artist statement

My process is focused on the layering of paint and linework, each layer responding intuitively to the last and with each other, creating expressive, movement driven works. I draw inspiration from nature, movement, and the fleeting beauty of florals. My most recent body of work seeks to converge my love for fluid transparent paint by letting those layers peek through heavier bodied paint applications. I am always mark making- obscuring and then refinding, pushing and pulling to create tension into and across the piece.
