Color and Line - New Abstract Art and a Painting Playlist
This painting is the first one where I feel like I've successfully married the two concepts that I've been working on for the last year or so into one. I'm calling it the convergence series. I really like the push pull effect of combining the lines with the "flowers" - the flowers don't jump out and either does a singular line; there is much more balance and movement (which is something that I've struggled to improve in my work lately). Painting can be really difficult, and not just the technique and the skills. The last few weeks have been the kind of weeks where in between every four brushstrokes you pick up an artist's self help book to keep moving forward, but I'm so glad that I did and that this painting is the result. It sold during the Black Friday sales before I got to add it here on the blog, but I still have several minis in the series (perfect for holiday gift giving!) and the first one that I did. And many more to come!

Also, I finally made an actual real live playlist on Spotify instead of always listening to Pandora. I don't know about you, but good music makes my painting better, my workouts better and everything in between. Here's what has been on repeat in the studio:
What's on your playlist right now?
What do you do to break through creative blocks?
What has your biggest challenge been in getting your art to where it needs to be?
