The Temperatures Are Dropping
It's November 3rd and most likely one of the very last high seventies, low eighties days in my lovely city of Charlotte, NC. The trees are finally starting to turn colors and it's such a nostalgic feeling to drive through the slowly falling leaves. I love it! Everyone is sitting outside at restaurants, biking and running (I've been getting some serious miles in now that it's finally cooling off), enjoying the sunshine, and trying to figure out what in the world to wear. Layering can be tricky but I'm finding that vests have been a great staple for me this warmer fall season.
This one (the Gavin Canvas Vest) is from my last trip to New York. It's Marissa Webb and it's over a Marissa Webb shirtdress (that also looks amazing alone). If you ever are in the Soho neighborhood of Manhattan you have GOT to check out their shop. They are incredibly nice and helpful.
The best thing about this outfit is how easily it will transition into the chillier days that are right around the corner. I'm going to wear it with my over the knee Stuart Wietzman boots, and I'm also going to layer it over my skinny jeans with booties! The vest looks great with distressed jeans and over a slouchy sweater, too. Lots and lots of options, which I love when investing in staple pieces!
