New Abstract Art

This piece is the latest in my most current series. For once, this series is just coming right along. It's like once I found that groove, I can't stop! My studio is covered in ripped out pages of fashion magazines, interior catalogs, inspiring photos, print outs of my older paintings that I am trying to stay in line with, paintings that I love the palette of, random swatches of colors, and tons more. It keeps me surrounded by the boundaries that I'm trying to work within so that I don't go down a rabbit trail and veer from keeping this body of work really cohesive and complimentary.

I'm going to save the name and meaning of the series for another post, but the common denominator is the spiral line and the soft palette in all of these paintings. I'll be showing these paintings in August at Shain Gallery here in Charlotte at their annual Abstract Invitational. Details coming soon, but save the date: August 12th.

I'm really excited about this show in particular for a couple of reasons. First, this will be my first show since moving to Charlotte! Second, it's at Shain Gallery, which I have adored and admired since moving here.
